About Spanworks

Spanworks is a free planning tool for anyone thinking about a steel portal frame building: a workshop, warehouse, factory unit or farm building.

What it does

• Lets you set the size, roof, cladding, doors, windows, lean-tos and mezzanine, and see the building in 3D.
• Checks the design against the main parts of the Building Regulations in England and flags anything likely to fail.
• Produces a materials list and a written spec you can copy and send to steel building suppliers for firm quotes.
• Gives an indicative price using rates you can change on the Pricing tab.

What it isn't

Spanworks is not a design or engineering service. Every building needs a structural engineer's design, planning permission where required and Building Regulations approval before work starts. Prices are indicative only.

Privacy

Your design is saved only in your own browser. Spanworks doesn't ask for your name or email.
